  • MA Program in Comparative Education
With great success in 2011, the Institute of International and Comparative Education, Beijing Normal University continues to offer the International MA program in Educational Leadership and Policy (Comparative Education) for international students, in collaboration with the Institute of International Education, Stockholm University. Applications for 2012 are now available!

This program will enroll 25 international students for 2012 with generous financial support from the Chinese Government. The top 40% of the international students will be awarded a full Chinese Government Scholarship based on candidates' academic excellence covering their tuition fees and living expenses for two years. Other students will also have the opportunity to get Beijing Government Scholarships which will cover tuition for at least one year. This is a very good chance for students who are interested in Chinese culture or who cannot afford to pursue further education. We will continue with great effort to create more opportunities for students from all over the world to know China and we will also strive to provide high quality education and excellent service for international students.

This program is a 2-year teaching and research program, modeled on the core-course system of the Institute of International Education, Stockholm University, which has been proved to be effective for over 30 years. It allows students to fully develop their academic capacities and provides students with qualifications, skills and competencies to apply for Ph.D. programs in comparative education at Beijing Normal University and elsewhere.

The DEADLINE FOR CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP is Mar. 1st, 2012, and applicants' materials should arrive at Office of International Students and Scholars Affairs, Beijing Normal University before Mar. 1, 2012. No application will be considered after that date.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, admission decisions will be made as soon as the review process is complete. Therefore, the earlier applicants send their materials, the more possibilities they could get full scholarship.

About AdMU Confucius Institute

The government of the People's Republic of China, through the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), has established Confucius Institutes around the world for the promotion of Chinese language and culture.

Inaugurated in October 2006, the Confucius Institute (CI) at the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) is the first such institute established in the Philippines. It aims to promote Chinese language, culture, and knowledge of contemporary China in Philippine mainstream society.

As a nonprofit institute, it offers Mandarin language courses at low cost in various parts of Metro Manila, as well as activities to promote Chinese culture.

On 25 September 2010, the Institute moved to its new home at the 6th floor of the Ateneo Professional Schools in Salcedo Village, Makati City. The place, all of 1000 square meters, houses classrooms, consultations rooms, a Chinese culture experience center, and a reading room.
